(Contest details below)

Thank you so much to Selena Robins for the chance to say hello and sneak in a mention of Daryk Warrior, the last book in my Daryk World fantasy/sci-fi series at Elloraโ€™s Cave. Iโ€™m also celebrating being one of the original bad girls of Elloraโ€™s Cave. What does that mean? Iโ€™ve been an author with them for ten years.

All my lifeย I’veย created stories that almost always have a hint of darkness in them at the very least, if not a full-blown scare. Whether it is the atmosphere, the place, the characters and their motivations, or the supernatural, I love giving readers a reason to look over their shoulders. As a result,ย I’veย written many paranormal and romantic suspense books on top of historical and contemporary. All of them have varying heat levels, up to and including erotic romance.

Many authors and readers have asked me how I can create stories with spooky or suspenseful content. Moons ago I tried hard to โ€œtailorโ€ my stories into a box. Soon I learned my creativity wouldnโ€™t flourish this way and went back to writing what blows my skirt up. My mind is happiest portraying the scary situations the hero and heroine face, and the wickedness, evil (and other dastardly personality flaws) of the antagonist(s).

It is no wonder I love Halloween, which happens to be my favorite holiday of the year. I always have a Spooktacular event each October on my blog to celebrate my love for the holiday. All month I make sure to take time out every day to feed my love for spooky movies and programs. All year-long my DVR is regularly loaded up with: The Dead Files, Ghost Hunters, Ghost Adventures, Haunted Collectorโ€ฆyou name it Iโ€™m probably watching it. After being interested in the paranormal all my life, I finally joined a paranormal investigation group in 2010. Iโ€™m loving it!

Now that you know I want to give you a great romance novel that hopefully will give you a thrill, hereโ€™s the blurb for Daryk Warrior

Mia is having one of the worst days of her life. After surviving a shipwreck during an attempt to escape her oppressive homeland, she finds herself lost, washed ashore on a foreign beach. One misstep almost costs her everything, but she’s saved by the strong arms of a lethal Dragonian warrior.

Mia, a former Scribe, unused to men and desire, finds herself facing an all new challenge in the intensely sexual Daryk One and the undeniable feelings he ignites in her body and her heart.

Eryk is uncertain about whether he can trust Mia but is becoming increasingly convinced that the pretty Scribe is more than just a woman who knows how to fuel passion. His burning need to claim her body and protect her life are signs that she might be his mate. In a land on the brink of war, with their very survival on the line, Mia and Eryk find themselves torn between their urgent need for one another and the goals theyโ€™ve each sworn to that could so easily tear them apart.

To see all of my books I hope youโ€™ll stop by my websiteย and read blurbs and excerpts for the just completed Daryk World series and any of my other work.

Be sure to check my blog because all through September and October Iโ€™m having big contests where you could win books and other Elloraโ€™s Cave swag. While youโ€™re there, sign up for the monthly contest and download some free short stories.

Selena Robins’ Review of Daryk Warrior:

Sexy, Adventurous, Fantasy and an Ultra-Hot Warrior

Denise Agnew is a master at writing Erotic Fantasy Romance.ย Daryk Warrior is the fourth book in the Daryk World Series and it’s just as compelling, sexy, adventurous and suspenseful as the other three books in the series.

Take one strong, powerful, alpha Daryk Warrior and a smart heroine–I immediately liked both characters right from the start of the book–and the result is a story that is filled with high sexual tension and passionate, well-written, sexy love scenes.

Characters are well drawn out, the plot is tight and as always, Denise Agnew gives you hours of fantastical reading pleasure.

The plot twists and the suspense will keep you turning the pages. You will hold your breath, as this couple face danger and struggle with their own internal conflicts.

If you haven’t read the whole series, I strongly recommend you not only read this one, but also pick up the first three books to the Daryk World Series.

  1. Oh Denise, this book sounds wonderful! And the cover? Swoooon.

I love paranormals because the conflict is usually life-or-death which means lots of juicy tension that pulls me along by my seat and lets me go at the end with a satisfying outcome. This book sounds like just the thing for me!

    1. You’ll love this book, Kimberley and that cover is swoon-worthy. I never was into paranormal or sci-fi, until I got hooked on Denise’s writing.

  2. Paranormal romance is probably my favorite since it combines my love of the paranormal (starting with vampires at age 7) with my love of romance. I must say vampires have changed a heck of a lot since I was 7 watching vampire movies in the afternoon.

  3. I really can’t pick a favorite – it depends on my mood, the weather , the season. When it’s bright & sunny & warm I like lite contemporary or Historical, as we are moving to cooler weather & earlier night I go more for the paranormal & suspense.

  5. Hi Kimberley! Thanks for stopping by. Your description of why you like paranormals sounds something like mine. ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. Anne, the vampires certainly have changed. ๐Ÿ™‚ I’ve written four vampire stories, three of them in the trilogy Deep Is The Night (Dark Fire, Night Watch & Haunted Souls). One thing I enjoyed about writing the vampire trilogy is that everything takes place over one month and culminates on Halloween. ๐Ÿ™‚

  12. Hi, Denise! This is the last Daryk Warrior story?? Boy, I gotta get all caught up! I do think I like most of the genres, but scifi/fantasy is one of my favorites, and I also love a good contemporary ๐Ÿ™‚ Sometimes I really like the story and characters unadorned, and that’s what a contemporary feels like to me–just the story, without any distracting “extras” ๐Ÿ˜‰ On the other hand, I also love that aspect sometimes–and scifi/fantasy has a lot of that “take me completely away to another world” thing going for it ;p Happy anniversary, Denise–looking forward to the next 10 years of awesome stories!

  13. I love that you write a variety of genres. I too enjoy most of them with historicals, paranormals, suspense, horror, fantasy, sci-fi and mystery as my favorites. I especially like when they are mixed such as a historical paranormal or paranormal suspense etc. And your cover is just to die for!!!!

  15. Hi Miss Chen! Wink. Yep, I don’t think there will be any more Daryk World stories. Just too many other kinds of books to write! ๐Ÿ™‚ Plus, after about three to four books my brain starts to say I have to write something different. Series get stale. ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks for stopping by!
