“Baby, it’s cold outside.”

coldoutside

To kick off 2014, I’ve joined in the “Baby It’s Cold Outside Blog Hop.”

You’ll not only meet a group of talented authors and link to a string of fun blogs, but you’ll have a chance to win some great prizes.

List of prizes and details below.

Steaming up the shower stall with your favorite squeeze is a great way to warm up when it’s cold outside.

Good idea?

Maddie Saunders from What A Girl Wants thought it was a great idea to surprise Alex while he was in the shower.

Her motto: “Vote for Assisted Showers.”

Baby It’s Cold Outside

(My version is slightly different than the original)

I really can’t stay,

Baby, it’s cold outside.

I have to be on my way.

Oh, baby, it’s cold outside.

It’s my role to pretend that I want to go,

And mine to demand you stay. You really can’t go.

Oh, don’t be pushy, the readers will call you an alpha-holio.

Then, baby, just go away.

But you said it’s cold outside!

I’ll lend you my fleece Snuggie.

Ohhh, this is gonna get real ugly.

Baby, it’s time you get going.

You better be joking!

Baby, it’s not that cold outside.

Can you at least give me a ride?

I oughta to say, no, no, no.

You should beg me not to go, go, go.

But, baby, you’re NOT turning me on, on, on.

Bite me, jerkface, I’d rather be gone, gone, gone.

Baby, please take my fleece and hat.

I don’t want anything from a stinkin’ rat.

But, baby, it’s cold outside.

Well, waffle-ass, you hurt my damn pride.

I’d feel bad if you caught pneumonia and died.

Then my ex-boyfriend, Snake will hunt you down and skin your hide.

Baby, come sit by the fire.

Oh, you’re afraid of my gun for hire?

I don’t want you to go, go go…because, baby, it’s cold outside.

Beautiful words from that someone special is another way to warm up when it’s cold outside, as Sabrina found out when she met Jason in Once Upon A Kiss.

  26. Ha, I love your version of “Baby, It’s Cold..”! If your books are half as funny, I have to check them out! 🙂

    1. Thanks, Molly, I appreciate the support and encouragement. Well, I’d love to say that my books are deep, serious, intense with no comedy, but that would be a lie. If you’d like to sample my sense of humor, I’ve written a romance parody on this blog, that seemed to have gone over well, plus, there is a short story you can download for FREE on Smashwords, B&N, I-tunes…TEMPTED BY AN ANGEL…I was going to literary intensity, really I was, but what came out was a comedy of errors. Hope you enjoy it 🙂

  27. Short and powerful excerpt 🙂 Can’t wait to read the rest! On my list of TBR.

    1. Thank you, Zeenat, glad you were enticed. 🙂

  28. I loved the little excerpt!! I will be sure to look into your books!! Thanks for posting!

    1. Thank you, Heather, always a pleasure to share my work and especially pleased if you’re enticed. 🙂

  30. I loved your baby its cold outside… Don’t we all wish we had a badboy ex named Snake who we know it doesn’t work out but he still has our back ??? Yep now I am thinking of bikers with tattoos and moto alpha maleness… Thanks lol….

    j.m.platt83@gmail.com

    1. Hi, Jeanette, thank you, glad you enjoyed it. You mean I’m the only one with a bad boy named Snake in my past? 😉

Gotta love those bikers with tattoos, bikes and bad ass attitudes…well, love them in fiction of course and there’s actually one of those in my next book…(Once Upon A Kiss), he’s not the hero, but I sure do love writing him.

  31. What a Girls Wants sounds like a great book to read on a cold winter night! 🙂
